Springtime

Dear Patients and Friends,
Two weeks ago you all got a text or email from my new associate, Dr Jess Chabot. She has been warmly welcomed to Thomaston and is getting busier every day! I had a patient last week say ‘I thought you left, that the new doctor took your place?’ Well let me clear that up right now, I am still here! I am not leaving anytime soon but do look forward to shorter days as Dr Jess gets busier.
Spring is hear and so is more time in the yard and garden. Remember to protect your back! Bend your knees, keep your back straight while lifting. Never twist and lift at the same time.  Chores like digging, raking, sweeping and mopping create uneven pressure on your neck and back. Learn to do these tasks left handed and swap back and forth every 5 strokes to even out the pressure on your spine. This will help with washing windows too. Alternate your hands! Allow plenty of time for projects and don’t over do it on the first day! Warm up a bit and stretch some before pulling on that mower that hasn’t been cranked since last fall. Stay hydrated with water and drinks with electrolytes in them and stay away from tea and sodas.
And call us when you need us!  There’s two of us now and we should be able to see you same day!
